Jeremy Podeswa. Canada/Greece. 2009. 116 mins. Sub-titles. Cert 15.

A Toronto writer is haunted by the childhood incident in which his parents were murdered in Nazi-occupied Poland and his sister was arrested. This heart-rending but uplifting adaptation of Anne Michaels’s poetic novel was greatly admired by its audience, including Louth Film Club’s chairman, at the 2009 London preview screenings for film societies.
