Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger. UK. 1948. 133 mins. Cert U. New print.

Powell and Pressburger's most celebrated Technicolor fairy-tale. This was an unorthodox film as it had real ballet dancers (including the radiant Moira Shearer in the pivotal role). Also the whole film was built around an extraordinarily daring 17-minute ballet sequence. It's one of the BFI's Top 10 British films ever and won 2 Oscars.
