Richard Thorpe. USA. 1957. 96 mins. Black & white. Cert U. New print.

Many critics say this is Elvis's best film, in which he lands behind bars, learns how to play music while there and becomes a top-notch rock 'n' roll star once he is released. A foot tapping film, which at the time was alleged to be corrupting the youth of America by Elvis taking his shirt off and looking sultry whenever possible!
